Picture Books for Black History Month

It is Black History Month, and here at The Peaceful Press we love to share good living book lists for you to enjoy with your families!

It is such a joy to make sure that we include stories from a variety of perspectives in all of our curriculums. Here are some powerful books about strong and courageous Black people we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.

- The Undefeated by Kwame Alexander
- Pink and Say by Patricia Polacco
- Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom by Carole Boston Weatherford
- Henry’s Freedom Box: A True Story from the Underground Railroad by Ellen Levine
- I Have a Dream by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (this one comes with the speech on CD and amazing illustrations)

There are many, many more amazing, quality books you can add into your collection of stories at home. We enjoy following along with @heritagemomblog on Instagram for some fabulous suggestions! If you have a dearly loved book that tells the rich heritage of Black families in our nation, please comment below so others can take notes!

You can also choose one of the full year curriculums from our website, which include stories from diverse histories around the world.
