Did you know that the largest desert in the world is in the frozen tundra of Antarctica? Did you know that some cactus grow to be taller than some trees? In our newest guide, The Peaceful Preschool™ Desert Guide, we will learn about hot and cold deserts, compound words, temperature, and animals from each region.

We read several fascinating books about these topics, are introduced to new poetry, and experiment with solar ovens, fruit leather, and snowmaking. This four-week unit also includes number writing practice, skip counting by threes, “ow” and “er” phonograms practice and many more skills suitable for advanced preschool or transitional kindergarten students. We also include engaging large and fine motor skills activities to give your child a strong foundation for later academics.

Below is a list of the books we suggest, but you are welcome to substitute for books on the subject that are available at your local library. You might also find some of these titles read aloud on Youtube.
